The naukri.com’s monthly job index — JobSpeak — fell to 713 points in December 2009, from 760 in November. However, the three-month average index reflected a more “steady hiring scenario”, the survey said.

As reported in the Indian Express yesterday, a small village near Gurgaon has pooled funds from their own residents & combined these funds with railway money to build a rail halt in their village.
Once operational, seven passenger trians will stop daily (each way) allowing residents of nearby villages to more easilly gain access to jobs in the Delhi NCR Region.

According to an article by the Economic Times, Fullerton Securities & Wealth Advisors Ltd today said it will hire 300 more people by the end of the current fiscal year. The Gurgaon based company has stated that these positions will be based in North India.

While Delhi Metro slaves away on the line connecting Gurgaon’s office complexes with Delhi’s housing, we are hearing word that final approvals will soon be granted for Gurgaon’s internal metro line.
The internal metro service being proposed by a consortium of IL&FS and DLF will connect with the Delhi Metro, and service DLF’s residential communitites and business centers. “Indications are that the economic slowdown and hiring have bottomed out. We are now in the recovery stage as far as hiring is concerned.”
A city-wise analysis shows that five out of top eight cities in the country have seen an upward trend in hiring, though Mumbai and Pune witnessed decline.
For the period under consideration, hiring activity in Delhi-NCR and Kolkata rose 2 per cent and 1.43 per cent, respectively. For Chennai it was 7.05 per cent, Bangalore 3.33 per cent and Hyderabad 6.65 per cent.
